Phantom of the Opera... Old School
One doesn't often hear me say lets go to church. But, this weekend I might just do that. For organ music ans a horror flick. Going old school for the silent movie from 1925 with church organ darkness. Sounds cool Pioneer Church. Thanks for getting into the season....

French Film Mini fest

Think short this weekend. Perhaps even mini... The Sacramento French Film Festival is throwing Francophile to the wind and showing 5 films with film shorts just before. Each movie plays one night only so get in the short burst of Frenchyness that you can at the Crest Theatre. More info here.
The Big Lebowski
Where's the money Lebowski? It'll be with you at the Crest Theatre this weekend as you pay for entry into the cultish Big Lebowski. I;m guessing people will show up as Lebowski ans Maude. But, I'm waiting for the Jesus to show.
It's absurdity will fester on you but the DVD case will really tie the room together. C'mon man just enjoy this bowling/detective/trip of a film perhaps after a few cocktails. White Russians perhaps? Hmm...
Always a good time. Enjoy it this weekend in Sacramento.

Pick Courtesy Crest Theatre
When it comes to the Pick of the Weekend I consult the Sac Calendar and try to decide what I think you might like. There were some big events like Sacramento Museum Day or Beer & Ballet but I have talked about them before. I decide instead to go retro and pick a screening of The Shining.
Get your finger up in the air to talk to Danny without speaking since he has a gift. BE ready to feel like you've always been in the Overlook Hotel and get ready for the madness of the "Twins" and all work no play makes Jack Nicholson crack.
The Shining is some Classic Cinema back on the big screen at the Crest Theatre.

The Crest Theatre gets perhaps a bit pessimistic about human kind this weekend by showing a screening of Idiocracy. Perhaps it's a statement on the Jerry Springerization of America is rubbing off with it being so close to Inauguration Day. Or I'm just puting words out there.
Wizard of OZ
The classic film The Wizard of Oz will be on the big screen at Auburn's State Theatre this Saturday, and it's a free family 4PM showing.
