Crocker Art Museum
As a Bank Of America member certain weekends we get free access to museums. So Sunday we went to the Crocker for free on 2/7 and enjoyed the Ai Weiwei exhibit. It included giant sculptures of the Chinese New Years animals. I am an OX. It fits...... Elephant Seal might have also been fitting.
Vampire Penguin South Sacramento
Milk snow at Vampire Penguin is so flavorful. We were in Little Saigon (6821 Stockton Blvd) South Sacramento just passing through on our way to buy a Craigslist Home Office Chair in Elk Grove. But that is a different story. We were getting some Bahn Mi's for lunch in the same shopping center so we stopped in.
Shaved ice but instead of water ice it's milk frozen and shaved for your pleasure. Add flavor pairings, one of many toppings, and choose your size. it's a desert adventure you need to take.
Vampire Penguin is doing great. Converting a cult like following and opening multiple locations. Search the out and support a Sacramento Business.
Being out on the town for Sacramento Museum Day 2016 made us mighty hungry. Being by the Capitol there were lots of good options around. We decided to go a bit further South. Quite literally.... South.
South Sacramento is a very multicultural part of Sacramento but we didn't go that far South. Instead we headed over to the Southside Park area and visited the restaurant known as South. Southern food reinterpreted for Sacramento. It was grub and very filling. I had the meatloaf and the food coma! Comfort food sticking to my ribs. But we didn't have room for comfort desert. Next time we'll split the fried chicken plate so we can have some desert like pecan pie or banana pudding. O yes there will be a next time!!!!!!
