We made a road trip up to Amador County to see Daffodil Hill after hearing about all it's glory. But, with the recent rains it seemed a bit dicey. So we checked the day ahead and they said they would be open so we made the trip past Jackson and past the old rubble of Volcano. Apparently it was not 100% but it was good. Many Bay Area tourists were up there and some who make yearly pilgrimages and we were a little taken back by the crowds. We thought it would be less attended but obviously we were wrong.
It was a fine day. A splendid day at Daffodil Hill and we got very lucky. Literally the next weekend it was over. The Daffodil comes and goes and so does Daffodil Hill in mere weeks. Even less with bad weather.
Beauty and the Beast

If you ever feel like being a rat in a maze or seeing what it would be like to live in 386 sq ft the Ikea West Sacramento is for you. For me it's all about their Lingonberry Drink. Just park me under the spigot!
The Fig Tree
The Fig Tree in Roseville is a new space down on Vernon Street. It's off to a great start supporting Art, Music while also serving up tasty Naked Coffee. A great place to just chill in Roseville
Apple Hill Snow
With the Calendar flipping to be more springy I had possibly my last opportunity to go to a snowy apple hill. So as the storm cleared out I headed up the hill before it was blossom season. By the time I got there the snow was receeding quickly. But, I made it one more time before the sun wont go away.
I hit Boa Vista Orchards as it's the only one open year round and got some apple goodness. You know, donuts and strudel. Then went a little higher into Apple Hill past Larsen's taking the back roads very slowly in case of black ice and even stumbled on a few dear before getting to Camino. But, my quest was further. The road framed with tall trees and snow was lovely as I made my way to Pollock Pines knowing I dare not venture much further in a RWD car. Snow season done but I was there one last time.
