Camellia Coffee Roasters
Camellia Coffee Roasters has a new space. They recently opened a stall at the WAL Building on the R Street Corridor. Had to check it out. Find em online here.
Shine Coffee is a nice little spot. Kind of area hub and amalgamation of coffee culture. Want board games shure, trivia ok, live music we do that. Beer. Wine. Samosas? Tremendous at nothing but great all around.
We do enjoy the jazz jam nights.
Starbucks' Pink Drink
So I heard there was a new drink n town. It was spreading in social media and the news. It looked interesting not just because it was Pink. Iced tea with coconut water and freeze dried fruit. I had to try it. Certainly a tasty concoction that soon disappeared but the freeze dried fruit was a bit weird going down. You gotta try it. The Pink Drink at Starbucks
Bean & Barrel
So if you've read this Sacramento Blog for a while you might notice we like going out exploring new places and spaces and especially drinking coffee or/and tea. So I found this new coffee shop hiding over the old train bridge and around the corner in West Sacramento. Well Bean & Barrel was a sight and a taste.
The space was great being light and bright right on the street corner in a newer hip development right across from the new Burgers & Brew in West Sac. Beyond coffee they also offer wine and some tasty grub. Usually when i see "Toast" on the menu I snicker hipster under my breath. But, when in Rome or this case West Sac I had to try something breakfasty.
I missed egg but it was fresh and tasty and indeed toast. A good snack it was but for me a mere smackrel.
The Fig Tree
The Fig Tree in Roseville is a new space down on Vernon Street. It's off to a great start supporting Art, Music while also serving up tasty Naked Coffee. A great place to just chill in Roseville
We enjoy our trips to Naked Coffee. When we called Chico home there was one up there with naked pictures on the wall until the city council banned them. We have fond memories of driving down to Sac for whatever reason and going to the Naked Lounge on 15th and Q. These days we go more to H Street location if the Tupelo store on Elvas in East Sac is all full up. Usually is so we have to skip that couch.
I'm usually naughty and get the Thai Coffee but just the basic cup is tasty. Plus a lot of tea.
We went to Ientity for their grand opening and the building was sparse but the coffee good. We decided to return shortly thereafter to see the progress and they were off to a god start. Over the a week(or there about) we went to #identitycoffees twice. Why? Because the Guatemala coffee was so damn good. Better than insight, better than old soul, better than temple, better than most in our opinions.
The food was pretty good as well. The purple donut tasted really really good from their glassed in case of emmotions(sad, happy, anxious and many other food types available). The second trip on a lazy weekend featured this awesome old plymouth business coupe outside which I should have been tootling around may wife in(wife seen in retro fur coat).
If it's not in usual repetoire definetly check out Identity Coffees.
We decided to try a new coffee shop this weekend. So new that he owners were still working things out with the interior space. They are related to Fluid Espresso bar downtown but located in sleepy south land park. I expect big things from these guys. This part of town needs a community space to hang out in and I think Barrio will deliver for the community. You can see more about Barrio here.
The coffee is good and the pastries are amazing. Trust me when I say try the rum bread pudding!!!!.
It's a large space but a little sparse and funky as Barrio gets it's balance. Some modern couches were just arriving as we were there and should help immensely.
